Student conduct records are confidential and are separate for the student’s academic record. These records will be maintained by Student Conduct and Integrity and retained in accordance with the following schedule:
- Student conduct records involving Dismissal will be retained for 50 years after the end of the academic year in which the case is closed.
- Student conduct records involving Suspension or the Campus Security Act (also known as the Jeanne Clery Act) will be retained for seven (7) years after the end of the academic year in which the case is closed or as otherwise required by law (whichever is longer).
- Student conduct records in all other cases will be retained for five (5) years after the end of the academic year in which the case is closed or as is otherwise required by law.
- No student conduct records will be destroyed while there are outstanding holds, sanctions or conditions or when a matter is pending or is on hold.
- In situations where there are repeated violations, all related student conduct records will be retained in accordance with the longest-held record.
- At its discretion or as required by law or university policy, Student Conduct and Integrity may retain a disciplinary record for a longer period than provided above.
